Jesus said, "If anyone desires to be a leader, they must become a servant." A pastor's role first and foremost is one of servitude. We are servants of Christ and we are servants to our church. As members, YOU are the church. My goal as pastor is to serve you. This takes place in a number of ways.
A pastor's most visible ministry is through preaching. Our goal at First Christian is to always make our sermons interesting, relevant and most importantly, inspired by God. Before I ever begin preparing any sermon, I earnestly seek Gods' direction. I ask God what HE wants to say. It is not about me, it is about Gods' message.
While preaching is what most people see and hear, much of a pastors' work is done behind the scenes. I want you to know that I am here for you. When crisis comes to you or your family, when life falls apart, or just when you need someone to talk to, I am here for you. Indeed, your CHURCH is here for you. We have committed, not only to pray for you, but to lift you up and support you in whatever comes your way. God has given us one another as a family of faith.
A third and equally important way a pastor serves is through their community. We must be at work ministering to the world "out there" as Christ has called us to do. I believe in not only helping to equip our members to carry out the Great Commission of Christ, but believe in taking the lead in doing so myself. That is why I strive to be an example of Gods work in my own life, fully recognizingmy own faults and failures and not passing judgment on others
My hope and prayer is that you will strive to become a fellow servant of Christ and one another as a we labor for Him.

My name is Chuck Aden and I am the Youth and Family Minister here at First Christian Church. It is our goal here at First Christian Church that your student will experience CONNECTION, COMMUNITY, AND COMPASSION through a variety of programs and opportunities. Connecting with other students and leaders and ultimately with Jesus Christ, being a part of a community of believers, and showing compassion to the world around us. We believe that what we give them today will prepare them for tomorrow and impact their lives eternally.
